Each year I walk from ŚWINOUJŚCIE to AHLBECK, this short trip lasts about 1 hour, 30 minutes to the Polish-German border and 30 minutes to the center of the town. Many people decide to ride a bicycle, cause there is a nice promenade in the forest, along the seaside comfortable for walking and for cycling.
I prefer to walk for the reason I come back later following the seashore and I really like it.
But, to your knowledge, there is a nudist beach between two resorts, so be prepared.
If someone travels by bike may also go further- the next resort on the UZNAM ISLAND is HERINGSDORF (hering=herring in English).
(Didn't I mention that Świnoujście is on the UZNAM Island -in German INSEL USEDOM- so from the Polish side you need a ferry or from the German drawbridges in Anklam of in Wolgast-links below,
once I chose the way via Wolgast, but, to be quite honest, it took some time more, more than waiting for the ferry...)

A zatem dziś nasz coroczny spacer ze ŚWINOUJŚCIA do AHLBECK, trwający około godziny idąc w lesie, specjalną nową promenadą, przygotowana dla spacerowiczów oraz dla rowerów. Po około 30 minutach dociera się do granicy, stamtąd, do centrum miasteczka Ahlbeck, drugie 30 minut.
Osobiście wolę iść niż jechać rowerem, ponieważ później mogę wracać brzegiem morza, plażą, co uwielbiam.
Tylko uwaga, jeśli kogoś to interesuje, po drodze, między dwoma kurortami jest plaża nudystów, lepiej to wiedzieć i się nie zdziwić.

a powyżej linki o Anklam i Wolgast, gdyby ktoś chciał wracać lub jechać do Świnoujścia nie za pomocą promu (przeprawa w centrum miasta lub druga przez wyspę KARSIBÓR jest większa i zalecana dla turystów), tylko przez jedno z tych miasteczek, biorąc jednak pod uwagę, że są tam mosty zwodzone.
BO PRZECIEŻ Świnoujście oraz Ahlbeck oraz np. Heringsdorf czy Bansin, kolejne kurorty w Niemczech, są wszystkie na wyspie UZNAM !
Spending the lovely time here in Świonoujście is like an elixir for my BODY AND MIND, I am walking on the shallows, along the beach, digging some not-very-important things in the sand, breathing the air that is so unique, it has the specific scent like nothig else, and like no other place.
That is why I love being at the seaside ...
(mountains, too, remember-but it is a different kind of feeling).
Być tutaj, chodzić brzegiem morza lub po wodzie, wdychać ten niepowtarzalny zapach, pokopać w piachu, naprawdę warto. Nieważne, że tłumy na plaży, tu jest tak pięknie, że nasz umysł odpoczywa, nasze ciało odpoczywa też.
Polacy są często tacy smutni i niezadowoleni, to jedno z nielicznych miejsc (oprócz gór), gdzie WSZYSCY są HAPPY.
What a lovely day it was, sunny beach, and in the afternoon STAWA MŁYNY, old lighthouse by the mouth of Świna river, it is about 1 hour walking along the seaside. From there we can see ferries passing by, ships, yachts, and, when we turn round the LIGHTHOUSE of Świonoujście, the one which is the highest in Poland. I was mentionimg it earlier. Piękny dzionek w Świnoujściu, dziś plaża, a potem stały punkt, stara latarnia STAWA MŁYNY. Plażą idziemy około 1 godzinę, zależy jakim tempem, stamtąd widok na ujście Świny, przepływające promy i statki, a, gdy się odwrócimy, widok na najwyższą latarnię w Polsce. In the very special microclimate in this place the weather is changing very often, even during the day, sometimes rainy and windy, sometimes sunny and then hot. Today it was the time to see the known viewing point, the tower which is the rescued part of the old lutheran church. Now-the cafe in lower parts, higher -stairs and gallery, on the top-lovely view on the 4 parts of the world.
Dziś spacer do wieży widokowej, pozostałości po starym kościele luterańskim, a pogoda jak to tutaj, czasem słońce, czasem deszcz, ale zawsze jest pięknie, to powietrze pełne jonów i kropelek wody morskiej...

We are starting to watch the MATCH Germany vs. Argentina !!! Here in Świnoujście on the promenade or on the beach the half or one third at least are our neighbours from GERMANY so the spirit is high today, a lot of supporters and fans. Today delicious food, like codfish, and desserts, currants in the colours of Geraman flag from USTRONIE MORSKIE, the rest from ŚWINOUJŚCIE. Have a nice match.....
Na dzisiejszy mecz, pyszniutki mecz, to i pyszniutkie jedzonko i desery ze Świnoujścia i porzeczki z Ustronia Morskiego w kolorze flagi naszych sąsiadów, sprzed 2 dni, szykując się na finał.
The only thing that was not good today-You know I avoid such things in this blog, but this time I have to mention that 8-years-old boy got drowned due to his mother was talking and did not see he disappeared. Please never leave your children alone! One picture with the rescue helicopter. Everybody was shocked and sad.
Dziś wydarzyło się jedno nieszczęście-choć unikam tu smutnych opisów-to ku przestrodze-utonął 8-letni chłopczyk, którego mama była zajęta rozmową i opalaniem. Tak nam było przykro wszystkim patrzeć na helikopter ratunkowy, karetki, a potem...karawan. Nie zostawiajcie swoich dzieci samych, nigdy.

Today it was badly raining whole morning, so I couldn't visit many places due to the not comfortble conditions. In the pictures rainy NIECHORZE with its LIGHTHOUSE, in the middle of the distance from KOŁOBRZEG TO ŚWINOUJŚCIE (total distance is about 100 km), and at last our beloved ŚWINOUJŚCIE, little cloudy and windy but not raining, hoping for the better weather. HAVE A NICE EVENING. At this moment 2:0 for the Netherlands, it is interesting if Brasil may change it.
