USTRONIE MORSKIE is a small resort about 130 km from SWINOUJŚCIE and 11 km from KOŁOBRZEG on the right side on the map, which means to the eastern side, however 8 km from GĄSKI, which is more on the east .

Nice, a lot of small shops with souvenirs, ice-creams and whatever you could wish to eat or to buy.
The beach is not wide, but pleasant.
Additionally very nice pier.
I know I m not very objective in this case, but I think one of the widest and the most beautiful, probably is in ŚWINOUJŚCIE...

Dziś kilka fotek z USTRONIA MORSKIEGO, które mieści się 130 km od Świnoujścia, 11 km od Kołobrzegu, a ok. 8 km od Gąsek.
USTRONIE nie jest duże, ale wzdłuż głównej ulicy ciągną się niezliczone atrakcje z pamiątkami, lody i inne przyjemności, więc można tam spędzić trochę czasu.
Plaże miła, ładne molo, naprawdę fajne miejsce.
Powyżej parę linków, min. kamery on-line z widokiem na plażę.
Once I have mentioned GĄSKI, a small, however well known village (a resort) at the seaside. "Gąski" in Polish means "geese" so when visiting this place we may buy souvenirs with goose, which is funny.
To reach this resort it is necessary to go by car, it is more or less 20 km from KOŁOBRZEG on the east, but the roads are rather narrow there,
and you feel like being at the end of the world.
OK. So after seeing fields covered with cereals we are in Gąski.
The best attraction is a LIGHTHOUSE ( about 50m).
Also there is a nice beach.
Worth seeing for its special local climat and really beautiful vievs from the top
of the lighthouse, however there is a little windy (on the top).
Wspominałam już o GĄSKACH, które w tym roku widziałam po raz pierwszy.
Znajdują się ok 20 km od Kołobrzegu na wschód.
Jedzie się do nich wąskimi drożynkami, prawie jak na koniec świata,
ale warto. Bardzo przyjemy mały nadmorski kurort,
z piękną latarnią o wysokości ok. 50 metrów.
Z niej cudne widoki, choć, uwaga, na szczycie wieje trochę.
Plaża w Gąskach również dość miła.
Choć Gąski są ukryte, za polami i lasami, warto wpaść.
Jak nietrudno się domyślić znakiem i maskotką tej miejscowości
sa GĄSKI. Można na miejscu kupić takie pamiątki znad morza.

Dziś padało jak z cebra i przypomniał mi się dzień,
sprzed dosłownie 10 dni, kiedy tak padało W NIECHORZU.
I pomyślałam, że MORZE jest piękne nawet gdy pada,
po prostu można siedzieć i patrzeć.

On the way to the sea we are crossing
POMORZE ZACHODNIE (WEST POMERANIA),
the resorts at the seaside are located in this part of Poland.
But the rest of town and villages are poorer in this province so we sometimes call those lands Poland "B" or even "C" class.
However, they have some beauty I think for the reason they are not that much "changed" I mean not much urbanised, so look like untouched.
There are some other characteristics there:
1. wind power stations (plants), which are numerous there,
so this is the only one thing that causes the landscape there being "changed",
a little modern.
2. storks in the nests, a lovely view
In the pictures - just WEST POMERANIA, the village of ŚWIERZNO, with the old church from the 17th century and many stork nests, and then the goal of our journey- KOŁOBRZEG in the evening

W drodze nad morze, mijamy czy też podążamy do i przez Pomorze Zachodnie.
Nie wszędzie jest tam tak bogato, jak w kurortach nadmorskich.
Nie ukrywam, że moje uczucia są tam różne.
Najpierw myślę, że to Polska "daleko od szosy", klasy B.
Później jednak myślę, że jest tam pewne piękno w,
jakby nietkniętych nowoczesnością miejscach, z licznymi gniazdami bocianimi,
a jedyną oznaką nowego, są, jak nazywam je ja, WIATROWNIE, czyli elektrownie wiatrowe, których jest tam dość dużo, podobnie jak w Niemczech.

Lately when travelling from Świnoujście to Ahlbeck I was crossong Polish-German border again, I was mentioning it.
Today I want to share my thoughts about the difference between the modern border with Germany and our border with Russia, which is located next to KRYNICA MORSKA on the VISTULA SPIT (MIERZEJA WIŚLANA), the furtherest point of Poland at the Baltic Sea, from the eastern side.
I alway wanted to go there, but I was a little afraid, was I right??

Dzisiaj - odpowiedź na pytanie czym się różni granica Polski z Niemcami od granicy z Rosją. Świetny link z wp.pl o niedawno odbytej podróży na Mierzeję Wiślaną, zaraz za Krynicą Morską.
Zawsze mnie ciekawiło co tam jest i jak tam jest.
Szkoda, że nie jest tam tak jak na tej pierwszej granicy.
Ciekawe czy kiedyś będzie normalnie i będziemy sobie mogli chodzić na spacer do wschodnich sąsiadów...

I was so tired, cause my trip home took more or less 9-10 hours by car, and
that is why I was not able to make the smallest post yesterday.
This year, we decided to travel home through Germany for they have better highways /motorways than we,
our S3 from Wrocław to the sea is still not yet finished so only parts are available, however each year it is improving.
This time I chose Anklam with its drawbridge on the Peene River, and there were no problems.
Vignette-a road tax will be introduced in Germany in 1.5 year, so next year is the last time we may use their roads for free.
At home, means in Wrocław we have very hot days, with temperatures > 30 Centigrades, like in French or Greek Riviera, but when you are back there are always some obligations and duties to do.
First, short glimpse on the way back home, and then day by day I will try to describe some things and my opinions about the places I visited at the seaside.
Sometimes, I also want to mention mountains, but now feel very refreshed by the sea. Last look at the sea...
A zatem powrót do domu, przez Ankalam, most zwodzony, udało się akurat bez przestoju, w Niemczech korki raczej w stronę przeciwną. Jazda, mimo wszystko z postojami ok. 9-10 godzin, nieco męcząca.
Trzeba korzystać, bo za 1.5 roku wchodzą winiety, ale może wtedy nasza S3 będzie już skończona.
W domku, we Wrocławiu upały jak na riwierze, ale, co każdy chyba rozumie, w domu, to nie tak samo jak nad morzem, albo w górach....
Ostatnie spojrzenie na morze, potem Anklam i nasz Breslau.
Today, only short description, cause I think the day was so lovely that it is nothing to add.
Maybe only one thing, that the temperature of water was 22.4 Centigrades (Celsius degrees), so even I, who really dislike coldness, decided to take a bath in the sea.
And...Good-Bye Świnoujście.
Nic do dodania, może tylko to, że dziś temperatura wody w Bałtyku była 22,4 C,
dlatego nawet ja nie miałam oporów.

Each year I walk from ŚWINOUJŚCIE to AHLBECK, this short trip lasts about 1 hour, 30 minutes to the Polish-German border and 30 minutes to the center of the town. Many people decide to ride a bicycle, cause there is a nice promenade in the forest, along the seaside comfortable for walking and for cycling.
I prefer to walk for the reason I come back later following the seashore and I really like it.
But, to your knowledge, there is a nudist beach between two resorts, so be prepared.
If someone travels by bike may also go further- the next resort on the UZNAM ISLAND is HERINGSDORF (hering=herring in English).
(Didn't I mention that Świnoujście is on the UZNAM Island -in German INSEL USEDOM- so from the Polish side you need a ferry or from the German drawbridges in Anklam of in Wolgast-links below,
once I chose the way via Wolgast, but, to be quite honest, it took some time more, more than waiting for the ferry...)

A zatem dziś nasz coroczny spacer ze ŚWINOUJŚCIA do AHLBECK, trwający około godziny idąc w lesie, specjalną nową promenadą, przygotowana dla spacerowiczów oraz dla rowerów. Po około 30 minutach dociera się do granicy, stamtąd, do centrum miasteczka Ahlbeck, drugie 30 minut.
Osobiście wolę iść niż jechać rowerem, ponieważ później mogę wracać brzegiem morza, plażą, co uwielbiam.
Tylko uwaga, jeśli kogoś to interesuje, po drodze, między dwoma kurortami jest plaża nudystów, lepiej to wiedzieć i się nie zdziwić.

a powyżej linki o Anklam i Wolgast, gdyby ktoś chciał wracać lub jechać do Świnoujścia nie za pomocą promu (przeprawa w centrum miasta lub druga przez wyspę KARSIBÓR jest większa i zalecana dla turystów), tylko przez jedno z tych miasteczek, biorąc jednak pod uwagę, że są tam mosty zwodzone.
BO PRZECIEŻ Świnoujście oraz Ahlbeck oraz np. Heringsdorf czy Bansin, kolejne kurorty w Niemczech, są wszystkie na wyspie UZNAM !
Spending the lovely time here in Świonoujście is like an elixir for my BODY AND MIND, I am walking on the shallows, along the beach, digging some not-very-important things in the sand, breathing the air that is so unique, it has the specific scent like nothig else, and like no other place.
That is why I love being at the seaside ...
(mountains, too, remember-but it is a different kind of feeling).
Być tutaj, chodzić brzegiem morza lub po wodzie, wdychać ten niepowtarzalny zapach, pokopać w piachu, naprawdę warto. Nieważne, że tłumy na plaży, tu jest tak pięknie, że nasz umysł odpoczywa, nasze ciało odpoczywa też.
Polacy są często tacy smutni i niezadowoleni, to jedno z nielicznych miejsc (oprócz gór), gdzie WSZYSCY są HAPPY.
